Doctors & Staff

Meet Our Dental Team

inside-staff

When we asked our patients what words would best describe our office, one word stood out: family.  We have been in Walnut Grove for over 20 years, adding more square footage and more staff as our practice grew over the years.  Our patients also appreciate seeing familiar face when they visit our office.    At Walnut Grove Family Dental we appreciate the value our long term staff bring to the practice.  While most of our staff live in Walnut Grove, some live in Fort Langley and rural Langley in the Poppy catchment area.  Allow us to introduce the staff at Walnut Grove Family Dental.

dr-sandyDr. A.D. Sandy McFarlane, B.Sc., DMD

Dr. McFarlane’s dentistry career spans over 30 years, with a deep-seated dedication to the field of dentistry. His constant desire to keep learning new and improved skills through study clubs and hands-on courses ensures Dr. McFarlane can provide the latest techniques to his patients.

Dr. McFarlane was born and raised in Vancouver, and began his education with a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural sciences, receiving the Blythe Eagles Silver Medal upon graduation.  Graduating from the University of British Columbia’s School of Dentistry, Dr. McFarlane was awarded the oral pathology student award for outstanding interest accomplishment and promise in the field of Oral Pathology.

After graduation, Dr. McFarlane practised dentistry in northern British Columbia from 1982 to 1989. Returning to the Lower Mainland in 1989, Dr. McFarlane worked as an associate in Surrey and Langley until he started his own practice in the community of Walnut Grove in February, 1992.  Dr. McFarlane and his family live in rural Langley near the Tall Timbers Golf Course.

Dr. McFarlane has not disappointed his peers with his involvement in the dental profession within British Columbia and his ongoing education. Some of his professional accomplishments include:

dr-jolieDr. Jolie Stroup, B.Sc., DMD

Dr. Stroup knew she would be a dentist when she was only 16, thanks to the positive influence from a great uncle. Having earned the President’s Scholarship to Simon Fraser University, Dr. Stroup completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.

Accepted into the University of British Columbia’s School of Dentistry, Dr. Stroup was awarded many distinctions such as a preventative dentistry award in her first year followed by a pediatric dentistry award in her final year. During her dental studies, and after graduating from the School of Dentistry, Dr. Stroup volunteered her time as a student, and as a dentist, at the REACH Community Health Centre located on the east side of Vancouver.

Having grown up in Aldergrove, her family were pleased to have her return to the Fraser Valley and join Dr. McFarlane’s dental practice in 1998.  Sharing Dr. McFarlane’s belief in continuing education, Dr. Stroup enjoys learning new dentistry techniques and providing a conservative and individualized approach to her patient’s dental needs.
